About The Position

We are seeking a customer‑focused, detail‑oriented Patient Access Representative to join our hospital administration team. This role is ideal for someone with strong healthcare or office‑based customer service experience who excels in fast‑paced environments and is committed to delivering exceptional care.

Requirements

  • Minimum 35 WPM typing speed
  • Strong working knowledge of PC, CRT, and printers
  • Able to work in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment

Responsibilities

  • Complete full patient registration at time of service
  • Explain, collect, and verify required hospital and legal forms (Advance Directives, Consent for Treatment, Medicare notices)
  • Scan and organize Protected Health Information (PHI)
  • Prepare patient packets for upcoming visits
  • Assist with scheduling diagnostic procedures and post‑discharge follow‑ups
  • Enter accurate scheduling details and provide instructions for upcoming appointments
  • Educate patients on financial responsibilities
  • Use compliant, professional collection techniques
  • Perform cash reconciliation and process payments following hospital financial policies
  • Verify insurance eligibility and benefits
  • Complete financial clearance tasks
  • Obtain authorizations for both scheduled and unscheduled services
  • Notify payors of inpatient visits
