About The Position

This position is responsible for accurately collecting and entering patient demographic and insurance information, along with performing additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor. All duties are carried out with a strong emphasis on patient safety, satisfaction, accuracy, confidentiality, and professionalism. Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Must have excellent telephone etiquette.
  • Type at least 30 WPM with accuracy.
  • With consideration to our patients’ and staff needs, you may need to work on days, evenings, nights, weekends and/or holidays and may need to float to other departments.

Responsibilities

  • Professionally receiving and directing telephone calls and inquiries
  • Greets and assists patients, visitors, and staff entering the hospital
  • Obtains initial patient information, including demographics and insurance information; reviews and maintains patient data.
  • Maintaining accurate records, reports, and ongoing logs as requested
  • Keeping detailed records of all inpatients
