This position is responsible for greeting and welcoming patients in person. Provides a standard registration process by collecting demographic and financial data and enters information into the electronic medical record. Collaborate with leader to ensure the team operations are staffed and working effectively. Location: 701 Dellwood St S, Cambridge, MN

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
  • 2+ years of revenue cycle experience in a healthcare/hospital setting (clinic/hospital registration, scheduling, prior authorization, insurance verification, medical billing and follow up, benefits eligibility, etc.)
  • 2+ years of customer service experience in a healthcare, retail, food service, bank/office settings, call center, or other settings that engages with customers
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to work Monday - Friday from 8:00am - 4:30pm
  • Must be 18 years of age OR older

Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcomes patient in person
  • Collects demographic and insurance information
  • Checks in or interviews patients to complete appropriate paperwork
  • Directs patient to their appointment or procedure
  • Uses resources, tools and procedures to complete registration for complex accounts
  • Verifies eligible and benefits information for payers and interprets results focusing on complex billing situations
  • Obtains cost information and explains information to patients as necessary
  • Collect co-pay or deductibles
  • Assists and counsel’s patient with application process for available financial assistance programs
  • Uses resources tools and procedures to complete accounts in assigned work queues
  • Collaborate with leader to ensure the team operations are staffed and working effectively
  • Coordinates the workflow among the employees within the work area and informs management regarding the operational needs of the department
  • Directs and checks the work of others
  • Participates in the orientation and training of employees and provides feedback to leadership
  • Provides technical and functional guidance to employees
  • May act as a back-up for all positions
  • Other duties as assigned
