About The Position

Confirm patient demographics and insurance information are correct. Prior authorizations for diagnostic and clinic orders/procedures. Verifies eligibility of insurance on all incoming patients. Determine covered medical insurance benefits in accordance with the provisions of the plan document. Document medical claims processes by completing forms and providing appropriate documentation to insurance companies upon request. Ensure legal compliance by following company policies, procedures, guidelines, as well as federal insurance regulations. Acquires appropriate medical records for intake of consultations. Uploads patient documentation and medical records into patient’s electronic medical record. Will work with the Radiation Oncology team. Schedule patient appointments, providing call backs. Receives and provides information to patients, significant others, healthcare team members in a courteous and professional manner. Provides an accurate and timely registration process to the patient population.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • 1 year of customer service experience

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to interpret and apply financial procedures and regulations preferred.
  • Previous experience with hospital information systems or word processing preferred.
