About The Position

Position Purpose Completes patient registrations/pre-registration processes following department procedures using identified technology systems. Processes include obtaining accurate demographic, insurance and patient liability information. Responsible for working with multiple department/hospital and web-based systems. What you will do Performs complete and accurate pre-registrations, registration, and admission functions Verifies insurance requirements, obtains and understands insurance benefits Ensures that all entries concerning demographic, financial and advanced directives are Collects non-covered fees

Requirements

• Minimum High school or equivalent
• One year experience in an accredited hospital or physician's office preferred
• Strong interpersonal, communication and interview skills
• Demonstrated proficiency in the use of computer systems and computer devices
• Knowledge of medical terminology and medical insurances

Benefits

• Part time 11p-7:30a every other Mon & Fri (16hrs in two week schedule). Shift and weekend differentials will apply
• TRAINING/ORIENTATION IS M-F 8-4:30 FOR 2-3 WEEKS including time at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield 3rd week required for new hire with less than 1 year doing registration in a hospital
