Requirements

  • High school graduation or equivalent required.
  • One year of Receptionist experience preferred in a health care facility.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to diffuse difficult situations.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Speaks, reads and writes English to the extent required by the position.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Excellent Customer Service: respect, flexibility, knowledge, confidence, professionalism, pleasant attitude, patience and helpfulness. All responses should be timely, professional, caring, and respectful in accordance with Customer Service Performance expectations
  • Greets and provides direction to all the patients and visitor in the division and ensure that they report to the correct Registration area.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality all the times.
  • Assist all the patients with Check-in and Registration.
  • Tracks waiting time of patients from arrival to Registration and escalates any backlog to the management to improve the overall patient experience.
  • Assists with mailing appointment letters and no show letters.
  • Performs crowd control (makes sure that after check-in, patients wait in the designated areas, and makes sure the patients waiting to check out proceed to the post-service scheduling area).
  • Maintains record keeping and regular reporting of departmental KPIs related to check-in, registration, and check-out times.
  • Performs a variety of clerical assignments (e.g., photocopying, simple registrations, etc).
  • Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
  • Assesses gaps in policies and procedures, and create necessary policies and procedures to fulfill these gaps.
  • Understands and adheres to the Medical Center’s Code of Conduct.
  • Familiar with the Medical Center’s Mission, Vision, and Values Statements.
  • Effectively utilizes the hospital computer system as it pertains to job responsibilities and in accordance with hospital policy.
  • Reports problems to the Patient Access Manager, Assistant Manager, or Ambulatory Service Center Administrator.
  • Attends monthly staff meetings.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
