About The Position

CentraCare is seeking a Patient Access Assistant to serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, performing registration duties within the hospital and clinic. This role demands independent analysis, sound judgment, and a thorough understanding of facility procedures. Key responsibilities include verifying patient and insurance information, scheduling appointments, and gathering necessary data to create billable patient accounts.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year clerical, administrative, or customer service experience; OR 1 year of prior scheduling, billing, patient access, accounts receivable and/or collections experience
  • Customer service skills are essential
  • Good verbal and written communications skills required
  • Independent analysis
  • Exercise of judgment
  • Detailed knowledge of facility procedures related to the work performed
