The Patient Access Analyst (PAA) can perform all Patient Access Services (PAS) functions including but not limited to those outlined below. The responsibilities of this position includes performing audits of the work of new and current employees within UNITY HEALTH (UNITY HEALTH) access management departments of including all Patient Access Services general competencies and uses of the CPSI and PAS applications. The PAA utilizes automated quality assurance reports, and denial information to develop and distribute quality assurance “Report Cards” for PAS personnel. Provides quality assurance trending reports by shift and work area. Meets Team Leads and Supervisors to discuss employee performance. Acts as a role model in the area of professional maturity and performance standards. A Patient Access Analyst is fully competent in all of the PAS functions that they audit. This employee is internally certified in all general functional areas for PAS Representatives which include: • Guest Services • Up-Front Collections • Emergency Dept. Registration • Outpatient Registration • Outpatient Surgery & Special Procedure Registration • Information Desk • Inpatient & Observation Processing • Insurance Verification • Bed Control • Census Reconciliation • Hospital Cashiering • Patient Scheduling • Government Payer Billing • Commercial Payer Billing • Worker’s Compensation Billing • Automobile Payer Billing • Government Payer Follow-up Collections • Commercial Payer Follow-up Collections • Worker’s Compensation Follow-up Collections • Automobile Payer Follow-up Collections • Update training materials annually • Adjustment Processing • Cash Posting • Document Imaging • Cash Preparation • Hospital Cashiering • Credit Balance Processing
