About The Position

The School of Business Pathways Coordinator facilitates full-circle engagement by serving as a touchpoint for prospective and current students as they navigate to and through higher education to the workforce. The Business Pathways Coordinator tangibly demonstrates our focus on business as a calling and provides proactive assistance to students in navigating the diverse career opportunities in the world of business This involves recruiting prospective students; guiding academic and career pathways; increasing internship opportunities through networking with alumni and expanding relationships with local employers.

Requirements

  • Strong interpersonal skills, including oral, written, and listening communication capabilities
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and coordinate events and programs
  • Computer proficiency
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group settings
  • Ability to connect with and serve internal and external stakeholders, especially current, former, and prospective students and parents; faculty and staff; and employers
  • Strong planning and organizational skills; and the ability to prioritize and manage competing priorities in order to meet goals
  • Team player and demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative workplace environment
  • Proven ability to think strategically and adapt to an ever-changing environment in the employment marketplace
  • Flexibility with hours, especially during periods when programs may extend outside of regular work hours, including limited weekend work
  • Willingness and ability to travel during the week on a limited basis
  • Have and maintain a valid driver’s license and insurance; meet Southern’s driver authorization criteria
  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution
  • At least two years of related experience in higher education; and/or marketing, sales, recruiting, or talent development in industry, government, higher education, or the private sector
  • An expressed commitment to Jesus Christ, the teachings and mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, a SDA church member in good and regular standing
  • Requires sitting, standing, bending, and reaching
  • May require lifting up to 25-50 pounds
  • Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate computers, telephone, set-up/take-down of booths and/or display materials, transport event and/or booth materials
  • Requires normal range of vision and hearing

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree
  • Three or more years of related experience in career advising/academic advising/other relevant student support services; and/or marketing, sales, recruiting, or talent development in industry, government, higher education, or the private sector
