Essential Functions: Responsibilities include filing, pulling, and tracking pathology slides, blocks, and materials, preparing cases and reports for tumor conferences, basic office administrative tasks, and frequent communication with physicians and pathologists for specialty testing and add-on requests. Facilitate the ordering and processing of pathology-specific specialty testing requests – including molecular and cytogenetic studies and the subsequent result distribution and report addenda. Operating multiple laboratory and pathology computer systems, pathology case registration, accessioning pathology cases, and/or transcribing pathology reports Communication skills and the ability to deescalate stressful situations calmly and respectfully professionally. Involved in troubleshooting of day-to-day issues within the Pathology department, are detail-oriented, and can recognize factors that may affect testing outcomes. Take appropriate action to solve problems and document errors
