The incumbent in this position manages all operations of the assigned laboratory sections to ensure proper procedures and tests are being performed. Serves as a resource to the technical staff and ensures quality control/quality assurance and regulatory compliance for the laboratory. Leads the management of the operation as medical director, personnel and financial activities of the assigned laboratory sections. In addition to the above, this person will also assist the Laboratory Administrative Director to prepare financial reports; process paperwork on all faculties and staff, manage purchasing of hospital/medical center supplies/equipment, and update and communicate appropriate policies and procedures. About the Position Full-time 1.0 FTE Sole Pathologist on site w/ PRN coverage Types of procedures: Pathology, Cytopathology adequacy (EBUS, FNA)/intra operational consultations (Frozens) Average number of Cytology procedures/intraoperative consultations per week: ~2 Pathology Patient volume: 60+/week ~3,000 cases per year. 80% inpatient and 20% outpatient work 80% clinical and 20% administrative Low volume after hours call coverage

Requirements

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible Anatomic/Surgical Pathology and Clinical Pathology.
  • Completion of medical degree and residency/fellowship training in Anatomic/Surgical Pathology and Clinical Pathology.
