About The Position

Pathology Coordinator Vancouver Clinic is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Pathology Coordinator to support the daily administrative operations of our Pathology department. This role is essential in maintaining, evaluating, and providing accurate medical pathology documentation. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of anatomic pathology processes and be able to communicate effectively with physicians, staff, and referral laboratories. Schedule: Will work 28 hours/week, Monday – Friday 11am to 5:30pm The above information is intended to indicate the general nature and level of work required in this position. Requirements

  • Proficient in medical terminology
  • Accurate keyboarding skills (50–60 WPM minimum).
  • Scribe / transcription skills.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of patient information
  • Medical transcription and reporting experience (required)
  • Proficiency in basic Microsoft Office applications (required)
  • Minimum two years of experience in a Clinical or Anatomic Pathology Lab (strongly preferred)

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree in biology or related field (preferred)
  • Billing and coding experience (preferred)
  • EPIC Beaker experience (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and format pathology reports; review grossing dictation and description reporting.
  • Manage sending/receiving of slides and tissue blocks to other laboratories; track outstanding specimens and tissue blocks for retrieval
  • Confirm billing codes against patient charts in EPIC; resolve billing errors and assist Pathologists with code identification
  • Perform internal pre-authorization process by submitting requests to the referral team
  • Transcribe pathology report dictations from Pathologists
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of all pathology reports
