About The Position

PathGroup is seeking an AP/CP Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Pathologist to join a growing, collegial hospital-based practice serving the McKinney and Frisco communities in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. This is a full-time role supporting two nearby hospital sites, with primary office space located in Frisco and close collaboration with a well-established team in McKinney. The practice is currently supported by three pathologists across the two sites and is looking to add a fourth pathologist to support continued growth. This role offers an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative, high-performing team with strong leadership and long-standing professional relationships. Practice Overview The practice supports approximately 9,300 annual cases across the McKinney and Frisco locations, with volume shared across a team of three pathologists and a fourth being added to support growth and coverage. The case mix includes a broad range of general surgical pathology and cytology, including GI biopsies and resections, breast, colon, FNAs, body fluids, and occasional frozen sections. No autopsy. Grossing, slide processing, and immunohistochemistry are performed at a centralized laboratory by experienced Pathologist Assistants, with fast turnaround times (often same day). Pathologists have access to internal subspecialty support (including medical renal, hematopathology, and neuropathology) and real-time consultation across PathGroup’s national network. The practice is over 90% digital, allowing for efficient workflows and occasional remote work flexibility when scheduling allows. Call responsibilities are equitable, typically one week per month, within a highly supportive and collegial team environment. About the Practice Setting The pathology team supports facilities in McKinney and Frisco, with offices located in physician office buildings rather than directly within the hospital. Coverage is scheduled in advance with flexibility, allowing physicians to focus on one site at a time without intraday travel between locations. The team operates in a hands-on, highly collaborative environment, working closely with clinical teams to triage cases and maintain timely turnaround. Vacation time is equitable and provided upfront, supporting strong work-life balance. This role offers future growth opportunities, including the ability to gradually assume additional leadership or CLIA-related responsibilities based on interest and fit. About McKinney & Frisco, TX McKinney and Frisco are two of the fastest-growing and most desirable cities in North Texas, located approximately 30-40 minutes north of downtown Dallas and just 15-20 minutes apart from each other. The area offers excellent schools, family-friendly neighborhoods, modern amenities, and a strong local economy, all with no state income tax.
