About The Position
Position Summary Responsible for assisting with gross descriptions and dissection of surgical tissues; submits specimens for laboratory testing; summarizes patients’ medical history. Requirements
- Master’s degree in Health Science or Pathology
- ASCP Certification
- 1 yr in healthcare setting
- Intermittent hand manipulation required
- Intermittent lifting and carrying of 50 lbs
Responsibilities
- Provides assistance with the gross description and dissection (examination) of surgical tissues.
- Submits specimens for histological and other laboratory testing.
- Summarizes patients’ medical history.
- Relates and functions effectively with the medical community, lab, and other hospital staff
- Performs procedures within the specialty of the supervising physician
