NeuroRestorative, a part of the Sevita family, provides rehabilitation services for people of all ages with brain, spinal cord and medically complex injuries, illnesses and other challenges. In a variety of locations and community-based settings, we offer a range of programs, including vocational and therapy programs, day treatments, and specialized services for infants, children, adolescents, Military Service Members and Veterans. SUMMARY The Speech Pathologist Assistant provides coordinated speech therapy assistance with a Bachelor’s Degree in Speech Therapy to patients of all age groups under the supervision of a Licensed Speech Language Pathologist.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of speech therapy assistant with a Bachelors Degree
  • One year experience as a Speech Therapy Assistant in an acute care or rehabilitation setting.
  • Current Texas State License to practice speech therapy
  • Therapy skills as set forth in the Therapy Practice Act and other regulatory agencies. Good interpersonal skills.
  • Travel as needed
  • Heavy work. Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Nice To Haves

  • Pediatric and Home Health experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Administers the speech therapy treatment plan as developed by the Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Applies concepts of infection control and standard precautions in performing patient care activities.
  • Accepts clinical assignments that are consistent with the education and competence to care for the patients.
  • Uses effective interpersonal relations and communication skills
  • Meets mandatory continuing education requirements
  • Promotes compliance with all fiscal intermediary and/or other third party payers, through education, coaching and other assistance as necessary
  • Demonstrates commitment, professional growth and competency
  • Performs other related duties and activities as required.
