Sonic Healthcare USA provides comprehensive pathology services across the Puget Sound region. We are seeking a full-time Pathologist Assistant to join our dynamic and collaborative team of 4–8 pathologists and three Pathologist Assistants. Our practice supports multiple hospitals and outreach clinics, delivering high-quality diagnostic services to a diverse patient population. The Puget Sound region in coastal Washington State is renowned for its breathtaking natural beauty, vibrant communities, and abundant opportunities for outdoor recreation along the Pacific Ocean. Requirements

  • Masters Pathologists' Assistant program from a NCCLS accredited institution
  • 1 year of laboratory experience grossing all tissue types from simple to complex is preferred
  • Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists BOC
  • Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills
  • Ability to operate general laboratory equipment, including but not limited to: telephones, computers, microscopes, and audible alarms.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in proper accessioning of specimens
  • Prepares tissues for histologic processing by describing anatomic features, dissecting specimens.
  • Selection and freezing of appropriate tissue for frozen section analysis
  • Gather pertinent clinical history
  • Gather pathology material for weekly tumor board conference
  • Performs duties relating to the administrative maintenance of surgical pathology protocols and reports on data: File reports, protocols, photographic and microscopic slides; Assure completion of coding.
