About The Position

The CACI Automated Remediation and Discovery (ARAD) team is seeking a Patching Engineer to implement and maintain a robust patch management procedure for the Department of the Air Force (DAF) Enterprise IT as a Service (EITaaS) program. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in enterprise systems administration, team leadership, and extensive experience with enterprise operating systems and Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) patch management tools (e.g., WSUS, MECM, Tanium, etc) as well as experience working with government IT security requirements. The preferred work location for this role is 2-3 days onsite in Chantilly, VA with remaining days remote.

Requirements

  • Active Secret clearance or ability to obtain/maintain a Secret clearance
  • 10+ Years of relevant experience (Bachelor’s Degree in applicable field may be substituted for 5 years of experience).
  • Experience testing, deploying, and troubleshooting the installation of Microsoft and third-party software updates
  • Experience building/deploying application packages in SCCM 2012/MECM Current Branch
  • Experience managing a large MECM infrastructure
  • Experience managing Windows Servers and Workstations (mobile devices a plus)
  • Experience with Adaptiva OneSite/Client Health
  • Experience working in a DoD environment
  • Familiarity with STIG requirements
  • Familiarity with ITILv4
  • Familiarity with Agile Scrum methodologies
  • Strong skills with MS Office tools (Excel, Word, Project, Visio) and SharePoint
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Acts independently to expose and resolve problems

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an experienced MECM engineer assisting with the design and implementation of the MECM/Intune solution for the DAF.
  • Ensuring the design of the solution is scalable to meet DAF needs/growth
  • Establishing procedures based on industry best practices for both routine and zero-day patch management
  • Deploy applications and application updates based on defined criteria
  • Remediate issues related to failed patches or applications and conflicts related to patching
  • Create documentation/SOPs for new procedures and manual steps to complete tasks for soft hand-offs and cross-training of support personnel
  • Operate and maintain the overall MECM infrastructure supporting the enterprise
  • Track all relevant SLA/SLRs and provide reports as required
  • Collaborate with DAF enterprise and program security teams to ensure requirements are met within allotted timeframes
  • Communicate effectively and collaboratively with customers, stakeholders, and peers
