One of the most beloved resorts in New England, The Woodstock Inn & Resort, is seeking a Pastry Cook III to join the team. The Pastry Cook III will be responsible for preparing a variety of desserts, pastries, and other baked goods in accordance with our high standards. This role involves creativity, precision, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Job Summary: The role entails overseeing the preparation of all bakery items featured in the dining room and room service menus, covering lunch, and dinner. Demonstrating the ability to work autonomously, exercising sound judgment and decision-making in meeting culinary standards and guest expectations.

Requirements

  • Culinary degree or equivalent experience in a professional pastry kitchen.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Pastry Chef or in a similar role.
  • Strong baking and pastry skills, with knowledge of various baking techniques and ingredients.
  • Excellent attention to detail and precision in execution.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and bake: Produce a wide range of baked goods, including cakes, cookies, pies, bread, tarts, and pastries, ensuring high quality and consistency.
  • Recipe execution: Follow recipes accurately and maintain consistency in flavor, texture, and presentation of all baked items.
  • Ingredient management: Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes, using a variety of kitchen tools and equipment.
  • Quality control: Inspect and ensure the quality of ingredients and finished products, maintaining a high standard of presentation.
  • Cleanliness and hygiene: Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines, maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the kitchen team to coordinate the preparation of items for special events, banquets, and daily service.
