About The Position

Summary: We are seeking a Pastry Cook/Baker to join our Bakery Team. Our ideal candidate has an upbeat demeanor, passion for the culinary arts, and some professional training or experience. In this role, you will help make cookies, cakes, breads, and other pastries according to pre-established recipes. Consistency is essential, so you must also follow portioning and decorating guidelines. You will also be responsible for preparing food in accordance with applicable federal, state and corporate standards, guidelines and regulations with established policies and procedures, ensuring quality food service is provided at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with the daily production and distribution of all pastries, desserts and baked goods.
  • Ensures proper food handling, presentation, portion control and maintenance of proper serving temperatures. Follows HACCP standards.
  • Operates and cleans equipment after each use. Performs scheduled routine cleaning. Stores or discards excess food in accordance with safe food-handling procedures.
  • Stores, labels and dates food items according to policy. Helps maintain organized storage of dry goods and refrigerated and frozen products.
  • Prepares high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery and service schedules.
  • Assists in production planning, record keeping and reporting as required.
  • Assists in the ordering and receiving of all food and supplies as required.
  • Reports needed maintenance, faulty equipment or accidents to the supervisor immediately.
  • Attends in-service and safety meetings.
  • Maintains good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators and managers.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Abides by all Company policies and procedures including but not limited to:
  • The use of a medium weight cut gloves when handling or using knives, peelers, choppers, mandolins or cleaning a slicer.
  • The use of oven mitts, fryer gloves or steamer gloves when handling hot pans from ovens, warmers or steamtables.
  • The use of slip-resistant shoes and proper lifting techniques.
