About The Position

The Pastoral Associate/Worship Coordinator is a committed joyful missionary disciple with a heart for service bringing others closer to Christ through full, conscious, and active participation in the sacramental life of the church. This is a full-time position (32 hours a week) with benefits. Some weekend and evening hours are required for Masses and other celebrations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Theology/Liturgy (preferred).
  • Experience/understanding of Catholic Worship, the teachings of the Second Vatican Council, the New Evangelization and sacramental/liturgical celebrations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Team-oriented with collaborative experience.
  • Computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office) and familiarity with church AV, sound and live streaming equipment.
  • Must complete the Archdiocesan Protecting God’s Children training and pass a background check.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the provisions of quality liturgical and para-liturgical celebrations.
  • Work with staff and volunteer ministers to ensure that we are a hospitable, welcoming and evangelizing community of faith.
  • Oversee the training and scheduling of all liturgical ministers including: Ushers, Lectors, EME’s, Altar Servers, Sacristans, Funeral Servers, Art and Environment, and Altar Linens.
  • Coordinate liturgical planning for funerals including meeting/planning with families and ministry before, during and after Mass.
  • Support and coordinate liturgical services to senior centers and nursing facilities including: Grace, Danish Village (Samaritas) and Springs of Rochester Hills (Medilodge).
  • Oversee the inventory and purchase of supplies needed for liturgies.
  • Oversee the EME’s for the sick and the homebound.
  • Work with the Parish Staff to promote unity as the Body of Christ.
  • Perform other duties related to Worship and Liturgy as assigned by the Parish Priest for the overall mission of the church.
