About The Position

Community Resource Network of Florida is seeking a ​compassionate​, ​dependable​ driver to join our team. Our drivers transport Adults with developmental disabilities from their homes to day programs and community outings. As a Driver you will play a vital role in helping individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities by assuring the safe transportation to and from their designated locations.
Our drivers drive a Ford HD 350 Transit van. Each van is equipped with camera system and GPS Tracking.
Hours will be based on route assigned. A typical day shift would always be a split AM/PM timeframe for drop off and pick up Morning hours approximately 6:30 a.m.-9:00 a.m. Afternoon hours 2:00 p.m.- 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday. No weekends, no holidays! Our individuals enjoy outings into the local community; our driver would transport them to those outings as scheduled.
Additional information:
Candidates must be comfortable working with Individuals with Developmental Disabilities. Some of the people we serve also have physical limitations and require assistance on to and off of the van.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Must pass level 2 background check & drug screening
• 18 years of age or older
• Valid driver’s license
• Clean driving record
• Must be able to lift, bend, stretch
• Demonstrates patience and compassion.

Responsibilities

• Greet and interact with passengers.
• Maintain and protect the confidentiality of the individuals.
• Ensure vehicle is operated at all times in compliance with applicable traffic regulations, ordinances and laws in the jurisdiction in which being operated.
• Inspect vehicle to identify needed maintenance.
• Sanitize and clean vehicles daily following routes, removing trash and debris.
• Ensure individuals are accounted for and transportation logs are completed daily.
• Assist each passenger in boarding and departing the vehicle, ensuring that they have entered their destination safely.
