About The Position

MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center Full-Time: 72 hours biweekly / 12 hour / Day Shift Responsible for transporting patients to their appointments, homes, nursing homes, and other locations as needed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred
• BLS (CPR) Certification within 6 months of hire. Acceptable credentialing bodies and certifications include American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Valid Driver’s/Chauffeur's License required
• Must meet Mercy’s Motor Vehicle Safety Standards
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Eligible to drive per Iowa state law
• Clean driving record required

Responsibilities

• Transport MercyOne patients in a wheelchair van to various locations and appointments.
• Must be capable of navigating to MercyOne facilities and other places around Iowa to ensure accurate and timely transportation of patients.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and scheduled maintenance.
• Must be able to prepare and adjust schedules.
• Requires ability to use IPAD and mobile devices to track and manage assigned trips.
• Excellent customer service skills.
