About The Position

We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Heavy Equipment Parts Technician to join our dealership team. This role is responsible for identifying, sourcing, and distributing parts for a variety of types of heavy equipment such as street sweepers, industrial vacuum trucks, high-pressure water blasters, and other machinery. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of heavy equipment systems, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to providing outstanding service to both internal service team members and external customers. This position reports to the Parts Manager.

Requirements

  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Knowledge of heavy equipment brands and components
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as parts manuals
  • Ability to prioritize and organize workload in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic mathematical skills
  • Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently
  • Detail-oriented individual with a strong work ethic and positive team attitude
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driver's abstract
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check
  • Must have a forklift license or ability to obtain
  • 3+ years' experience in heavy equipment, construction or automotive parts and/or service environment
  • Experience using an ERP or Inventory Management program

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with heavy equipment parts preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist customers and service department in identifying and locating required parts
  • Research and order parts using OEM catalogs, databases, and company inventory systems
  • Provide pricing, availability, and delivery information to customers
  • Receive, inspect, and shelve incoming parts shipments
  • Maintain a clean and organized parts department
  • Maintain communication with Shipping/Receiving, suppliers and customers to ensure efficiency within the parts department
  • Provide and maintain accurate back-order reports
  • Promote parts campaigns when interacting with external customers
  • Participate in required inventory cycle counts and provide back-up support to other department employees as required
  • Participate in training to remain up to date on products represented by the company and new/revised protocols
  • Other duties as assigned by manager
