The HVAC Parts Store Manager is responsible for the overall success of the store, including sales growth, inventory management, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction. This role requires a blend of technical HVAC product knowledge, strong leadership, and business acumen to ensure the store serves as a reliable parts source for technicians and customers.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a management role, preferably in an HVAC, automotive, or industrial parts/wholesale distribution environment.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems, components, and industry products is highly beneficial.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time management abilities.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for negotiating with suppliers and interacting with technicians and customers.
  • Proficiency in inventory management and basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office).
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds, and operate material handling equipment such as a forklift (certification may be required).

Responsibilities

  • P&L Oversight: Manage the store’s profit and loss (P&L) statement, budget, and financial performance, focusing on sales targets and expense control.
  • Customer Experience: Ensure the team provides exceptional service by accurately identifying customer HVAC parts and equipment needs and providing prompt quotes and order processing.
  • Merchandising: Oversee the organization, appearance, and merchandising of the store to create an efficient and professional environment.
  • Safety & Compliance: Implement and enforce all company policies, safety protocols (including Zero Harm initiatives where applicable), and legal regulations for the facility and personnel.
  • Control & Accuracy: Maintain accurate inventory records and achieve a high SKU accuracy rate (e.g., 98%) through regular cycle counts and proper documentation.
  • Ordering & Stocking: Manage the of parts, ensuring critical components are always in stock to prevent delays in service.
  • Supplier Relations: Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers and vendors to secure the best cost and maintain a reliable supply chain.
  • Warranty: Administer the factory warranty process, including reviewing claims and managing the disposition of defective items.
  • Staff Development: Recruit, hire, train, mentor, and coach store employees to build a knowledgeable and high-performing team.
  • Performance: Conduct performance appraisals, set improvement goals, and administer progressive discipline when necessary.
  • Scheduling: Establish work schedules for employees to ensure adequate coverage for all operational hours and activities.
