About The Position

Rihm Family Companies, a family-owned and operated business driven by its 4 Es of Doing Business (Effective, Efficient, Equity and Expansion), is seeking an experienced Parts Runner/Shipper/Receiver. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic and a desire to increase their experience, skill set, and knowledge within an established organization. This role involves safely and timely delivering and picking up parts and equipment from customers and vendors, assisting the parts and service departments, and ensuring the timely shipment and check-in of orders and parts.

Responsibilities

  • Delivers to and picks up parts and equipment from customers, satellite stores, wholesale accounts, vendors and service technicians.
  • Coordinates pick-up and deliveries when needed from internal customers (parts manager, body shop, wholesale representatives, inventory, parts counter people, shipping/receiving).
  • Verifies that invoices match purchase orders and payments are received for each pick-up when applicable.
  • Keeps an accurate log of daily deliveries and pick-ups, ensuring to obtain customer signature on each delivery entry.
  • Acts as liaison between parts sales and customer.
  • Communicates specials and promotions to customers.
  • Unloads truck each night.
  • Performs basic truck maintenance (filling gas tank, checking oil, keeping it clean, ensuring required inspections are performed) and advises Parts Manager of any major repairs and/or maintenance needed.
  • Assists with inventory stocking and posting orders upon arrival to expedite delivery to shop technicians and wholesale accounts.
  • Crates all cores for shipment back to the manufacturer when part has been replaced.
  • Effectively pick, package and ship products to customers and suppliers according to company process and standards.
  • Inspect, check-in and stock shelves with incoming parts.
  • Compare parts received against packing lists to verify accuracy of shipments received.
  • Move heavy items with the help of forklifts, pallet jacks and wheel trucks.
  • Negotiate shipping rates with freight companies and couriers.
  • Inspects forklifts daily and schedules maintenance and repairs.
