About The Position

Stepp’s Auto Parts is seeking experienced mechanics for their San Antonio, FL salvage yard. They are looking for candidates with a positive attitude, strong customer service skills, effective problem-solving abilities, and hands-on automotive experience. The role offers work on all vehicle types, focusing on parts removal and system learning, without diagnostics or warranty work. It provides unique, hands-on experiences and offers hourly pay with monthly performance bonuses instead of flat rate/book time. The Parts Removal and Processing Technician is responsible for the safe and efficient removal of parts and assemblies from vehicles, ensuring all components are prepared for sale, delivery, shipping, or inventory. This role requires strong attention to detail, teamwork, and a commitment to quality standards. Stepp’s Towing & Heavy Transport, a family-owned business since 1960, serves the greater Tampa Bay and Orlando areas, specializing in light-, medium-, and heavy-duty towing, heavy transport, and auto salvage. Requirements

• Positive attitude

• Hands-on automotive or industry experience
• Valid driver’s license and/or reliable transportation
• Must have own tools
• Basic understanding of environmental safety
• Willingness to learn the operation of car lifts, heavy forklifts, car crushers, mini excavators, and skid steers
• Ability to learn new processes and procedures through hands-on training or online courses
• Must pass background check and drug test
• Clean driving record required
• Excellent customer service and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently remove parts and assemblies from vehicles
• Inspect, clean, label, and tag parts for sale, delivery, shipping, or inventory
• Work collaboratively in a team environment to meet goals
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Proactively build customer relationships and provide thoughtful solutions
• Maintain a professional appearance and represent Stepp’s with pride
