About The Position
Schmitty & Sons is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Parts Manager to join their team at the Burnsville location. This role is essential to keeping the fleet operating efficiently by managing parts inventory and supporting maintenance operations.
Requirements
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Basic computer skills for inventory tracking systems
- Valid driver’s license required
- Ability to obtain a CDL with school bus and passenger endorsement (or already have one)
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in parts management, inventory control, or automotive/heavy-duty parts
- Knowledge of bus or commercial vehicle parts
Responsibilities
- Order, receive, and manage parts inventory for: School buses, Transit buses, Mini vans, Other fleet vehicles
- Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure proper stock levels
- Work closely with maintenance staff to identify parts needs
- Source parts from vendors and negotiate pricing when appropriate
- Track orders and ensure timely delivery
- Organize and maintain a clean and efficient parts room
- Assist with other operational tasks as needed
- Support transportation operations during driver shortages or peak times
