About The Position

Harnish Group Inc. is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented professional to join our team as a Parts Inventory Manager.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in inventory management (preferred).
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in inventory management software.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to assume increasing responsibilities in a changing environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of Parts Inventory Control specialists to ensure accurate stock management and efficient operations.
  • Monitor, analyze, and forecast Caterpillar parts inventory to ensure optimal availability for both Parts Counter Sales and Service Department operations across all branch locations.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed inventory reports to identify trends and anticipate future demand.
  • Establish and manage inventory system parameters.
  • Make informed decisions regarding surplus, non-moving, and non-returnable inventory.
  • Coordinate bulk purchases, surplus returns, and addition of non-stock items in alignment with established ordering policies.
  • Oversee consigned inventory programs.
  • Assess inventory needs in response to new product launches, major product recalls, and Caterpillar service letter directives.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to branch teams on inventory matters
  • Manage relationships with the company’s logistics provider for internal parts distribution.
  • Monitor performance of OEM parts suppliers in terms of delivery accuracy, timeliness, completeness, cost-efficiency, and quality.
  • Lead key administrative functions, including coordination of the annual physical parts inventory, surplus return cycles, vendor invoice processing, and reporting on Caterpillar performance metrics.
  • Track progress and compile post-event evaluations as required by senior leadership.
  • Perform basic data analysis to generate actionable insights that support product support operations and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships and clear communication channels with internal teams, external customers, and Caterpillar personnel.
