About The Position

Under the direction and supervision of the Parts Manager, this position is responsible for the delivery and pick up of parts and supplies for the dealership. Performs all duties within the objectives, standards, and policies of Willis Automotive.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information
  • High school diploma/GED
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Valid Iowa driver's license
  • Acceptable driving record in accordance with insurance provider
  • Must be able to have off-premise driving privileges
  • Ability to operate vehicles both manual and standard transmissions
  • Must be familiar with Des Moines metro, surrounding communities and statewide Iowa
  • Skill to operate material handling equipment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds comfortably; 70 pounds with assistance
  • Strong ability to handle multiple tasks and complete daily projects
  • Must have ability/desire to work well in a team-based environment

Responsibilities

  • Pickup and delivery of parts and supplies for customers and vendors in the Des Moines metro, surrounding communities and statewide Iowa
  • Pickup and delivery of parts and supplies around the campus as needed.
  • Completes a log at the time of delivery/pickup and requests recipient's signature for parts delivery.
  • Reviews invoices for parts delivery for correct payment method and ensures collection and remittance to the dealership.
  • Demonstrates safe and courteous driving skills at all times.
  • Complete bi-annual hazardous material certifications/training requirements
  • Communicates work accomplishments and activities to supervisor on a regular basis.
  • Assists in maintaining the professional appearance of the parts department.
  • May assist with performing the physical inventory of entire parts department one time a calendar year. This process is done after normal business hours.
  • Assist with the disposal of cardboard and garbage around the parts department to designated areas.
  • Presents a professional image and demeanor to the public and to customers.
  • Responsible for communicating any maintenance requirements for the delivery vehicle to department manager. Keeps the interior and exterior of the delivery vehicle clean and well-maintained.
  • Performs any other related duties as assigned.
