About The Position

The Parts Counter position at Thermo King West involves assisting customers with identifying and obtaining parts for repairs, building professional relationships to foster business growth, and managing daily tasks such as billing and finalizing service charges. The role requires analyzing the customer base for new growth opportunities and maintaining positive interactions with service technicians, leadership, the parts department, drivers, vendors, and customers. Key responsibilities include keeping paperwork organized, effective customer communication, ensuring customer satisfaction, and providing technical answers or directing inquiries to appropriate personnel. The individual is also responsible for maintaining a high standard of organization and cleanliness in the parts warehouse and adhering to company policies. This role is crucial for supporting technician counter needs and managing inventory control within the parts warehouse, seeking an enthusiastic team player committed to personal and business growth.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Required background in parts inventory and procedures.
  • Ability to work with several computer-based programs including Microsoft office.
  • Ability to learn and be proficient in using company’s business system program (e-Emphasys).
  • Ability to use computers for web-based training.
  • Must be physically able to lift and work with no restrictions.
  • Ability to work as a team and independently while displaying a professional and confident relationship with the customer.
  • Reliable, solid written and communication skills.
  • Ability to pass drug screening and background check for employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical degree or certification
  • Knowledge of automotive and or heavy truck industry
  • Some Experience in Forklift Operation

Responsibilities

  • Assisting customers in identifying and obtaining items to complete repairs in a timely matter.
  • Build a professional relationship with customers to obtain and grow the business.
  • Completing daily tasks such as billing, handling cash customers and finalizing SVC billing.
  • Analyze our customer base for ideas on additional and or new growth opportunities.
  • Positive interface with service techs, leadership team, parts department, drivers, vendors, and customers.
  • Keep paperwork updated and organized.
  • Communicate effectively with customers.
  • Manage customer interactions to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Answer customer technical questions when applicable or assign to proper personnel.
  • Maintain a high standard of organization and cleanliness throughout parts warehouse area.
  • Perform various other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Able to abide by and enforce the policies and procedures of Thermo King Sales & Service.
  • Take care of technician counter needs.
  • Perform inventory monitoring and control in our parts warehouse.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and attitude.
  • Be open-minded on change and input from peers and supervisors.
