About The Position

Under the supervision of the Parts Manager, the Parts Counter Salesperson is responsible for selling parts over the front counter and back counter.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customer, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Must have basic understanding of Windows and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of Database software; Internet software and Inventory software.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Parts knowledge for all Freightliner models.

Responsibilities

  • Handles parts requirements of customer through counter service and telephone sales.
  • Invoices and pulls parts correctly.
  • Places parts in the appropriate area or customer pick-up delivery.
  • Adds Service Department parts to Ro and issues to technician in a timely manner.
  • Greets customers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Advises the customer on any changes to orders such as substitutions or modifications.
  • Assists in keeping parts area clean and shelves stocked and orderly.
  • Assists in physical stock inventory.
