About The Position

Position Summary The primary responsibility of this position is to assist customers that want to buy parts and processing the final sales transaction. Core Responsibilities Responsibilities described in this section are fundamental to success in this position. Find the part number, if necessary, for a parts request using electronic catalogs, books, or microfiche Make a part number inquiry into the parts inventory for the requested part Invoice the customer for the part charging the correct price, tax, and miscellaneous charges Collect the funds for the invoice or make sure the cashier receives payment prior to issuing the part If the part is not in inventory, locate the part from an approved outside source or give the request to the parts manager to locate Follow the parts department procedures for tracking lost sales Complete a special-order part request for any parts that need to be ordered Assist the back counterperson or stocking clerk as necessary Learn any new computer updates that affect the parts invoicing/inventory system Notify customers when special order parts arrive Uses personal device to provide an additional layer of security for company network and site access through multi-factor authentication. Adhere to all dealership safety standards Other responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

  • High School Education or equivalent
  • 3-5 years parts department experience
  • Valid driver’s license without restrictions that affects your ability to operate company owned vehicle(s) and ability to maintain a clean driving record.
  • Good interpersonal, time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to identify and achieve targeted goals
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to understand verbal and written instructions and warning labels
  • Ability to work well with a range of individuals
  • Ability to prioritize multiple jobs
  • Ability to clearly communicate with customers and coworkers alike to ensure an excellent customer experience
  • Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team
  • Ability to effectively respond to inbound and outbound phone calls
  • Strong attention to detail, professional demeanor, and a positive ‘can do’ attitude
  • Must be able to pass a drug/alcohol urinalysis and be able to drive a vehicle

Nice To Haves

  • Previous inventory management or related management experience preferred
