About The Position

Here at Ron Tonkin Honda, business is booming and we need an additional Parts Counter Salesperson to join our Parts Department. We are growing and looking to add someone who can help support both our service team and retail customers with accuracy, efficiency, and great customer service. Working as a Parts Counter Salesperson, your main responsibility will be assisting customers and technicians in identifying, sourcing, and ordering the correct automotive parts while maintaining organized inventory and strong internal communication. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, customer-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced dealership environment.

Requirements

  • Previous automotive parts experience preferred (dealership experience a plus)
  • Familiarity with OEM parts lookup systems and electronic catalogs
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn dealership software systems
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs and stand for extended periods
  • Willingness to learn and cross-train in additional areas of the department, including body shop and collision parts operations
  • Must be 18 years or older with a valid driver's license and clean driving record, able to pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

  • Assist retail and wholesale customers at the parts counter and over the phone.
  • Support service technicians by accurately identifying and supplying needed parts.
  • Utilize electronic parts catalogs to source OEM components.
  • Process parts orders, special orders, returns, and warranty claims.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and stock organization.
  • Communicate effectively with service advisors and technicians to ensure timely workflow.
  • Keep the parts department clean, organized, and efficient.
  • Be open to cross-training in additional areas of the department, including exposure to body shop and collision parts operations to support overall team success.
