About The Position

Midway Motors Auto Group is looking for a Parts Counter Clerk to support customers at the counter, in the shop, and over the phone. This role is key to delivering great service while keeping our parts operations running smoothly. Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years parts department and/or warehouse experience in the automotive industry
  • Minimum of 2 years customer service experience
  • Valid driver’s license with satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)

Nice To Haves

  • Five or more years parts counter, service or sales experience in the automotive industry
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Previous work experience working directly with the public; talking to others to convey information effectively by phone, in written form, email and in-person; actively seeking ways to help people; organize and accomplish work
  • Attention to detail
  • Customer-focused (internal and external customers) with the ability to give full attention to what others are saying, take time to understand the situation, ask appropriate questions, and not interrupting at inappropriate times
  • Ability to analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems
  • Explain technical product or service information to customers
  • Using computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to enter data and process information

Responsibilities

  • Assist customers and technicians with parts selection, pricing, and availability
  • Answer calls and proactively drive parts sales and service appointments
  • Process orders, invoices, payments, and returns accurately
  • Track and follow up on special orders and backorders
  • Maintain organized inventory, stock levels, and parts displays
  • Coordinate deliveries, pickups, and shipments
  • Keep work areas clean, professional, and organized
  • Support the team with daily operations and special projects as needed
