About The Position

Stephenson Equipment, Inc (SEI), an industry leader in Pennsylvania, Maryland, DC and New York providing sales, rentals, parts and service for construction equipment, cranes, paving, road building and road maintenance equipment, has an immediate need for a Parts Assistant at our Public Works and Infrastructure location in Harrisburg, PA . Duties include, but are not limited to: Receive part's orders from vendors. Place and receive order from customers as well as service department. Answer phone calls as they come in. Following the calls and inquiries to completion. Understand customer's needs to help achieve desired results. Document pertinent information to direct customer to the correct person or department. Provide updates to the service coordinator and job technician on parts arrivals. Receive and check in Purchase Orders (PO's). Pick, pack, and ship orders. Deliver parts to customers. Perform physical counts for inventory control with parts management. Stock order receiving. Look up parts using manufacture websites and parts books. Process sales and returns via cash and credit card payments. Use yard machine to unload palletized material, plows, hitches, etc. Effectively communicate and actively participate within a goal-orientated team environment. Actively participate in problem solving and continuous improvement activities. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Work performed in a warehouse environment with moderate to loud noise levels.
  • Temperatures vary from season to season.
  • Job requires extended periods of standing and walking.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 75 lbs. on a frequent basis.
