About The Position

This Parts & Service Representative role supports a construction equipment dealer by prioritizing inventory management, parts lookup, and counter sales, while developing technical knowledge to back up the Service Department. Responsibilities include starting as a Warehouse Technician supporting Parts, and following a structured development path to Parts Representative, with cross-training in Service operations. The overall role will prioritize processing orders, managing stock, and providing customer support to ensure high-quality service and parts efficiency.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 1 year experience in parts and/or service department in technical retail environment
  • Minimum 1 year experience using standard desktop applications such as Microsoft Office and internet
  • Minimum 1 year experience analyzing and interpreting internal reports
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Warehouse & Parts Department Support:
  • Inventory Management: Efficiently order, receive, stock, and inventory construction equipment parts and accessories. Perform cycle counting and report discrepancies.
  • Counter Sales & Support: Act as the primary contact for customers and service technicians to identify, source, and supply necessary parts. Keep parts department clean and orderly. Assist with merchandising displays and re-stocking showroom inventory.
  • Parts Identification: Utilize digital catalogs to identify, substitute, or source correct parts for repairs and maintenance.
  • Order Fulfillment: Process parts shipments timely (sending and receiving). Process invoices, manage returns, and track inventory levels to minimize downtime. Post freight to work orders for parts orders & transfers.
  • Shipment & Receiving: Receive, inspect, and organize incoming parts shipments according to company guidelines
  • Service Department Back-Up
  • Service Writing: Assist with creating work orders and scheduling service, learning the service workflow to fill in as needed. Assist with work order cycle process through closing and invoicing for customer work.
  • Service Back-Up: Schedules and assigns jobs and work areas to employees in the service department depending on skills and knowledge
  • Liaison Function: Communicate between service technicians and customers regarding status of work.
