You can have all of this and more at Five Star Equipment. We have a terrific opportunity for a Parts Advisor for our Kirkwood, NY location. We are looking for a self-motivated, experienced Parts Professional to join our team. The Parts Advisor is a branch position assisting the branch’s Operations Manager, working as the “face of the branch” for the Parts & Service Departments. The Parts Advisor will foster brand loyalty by providing accurate and timely technical support and offering equipment service programs to customers. Sales experience a plus, as the Parts Advisor will offer service program upsells as a problem solver when the opportunity exists. Strong phone communication skills are important.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in parts. Heavy equipment experiences preferred.
  • Understands factors facing customers and their equipment such as time, work conditions, physical demands, etc.
  • Understanding of mechanical and technical terms.
  • Ability to use software applications such as the CDK business system, Microsoft Office and Internet functions.

Responsibilities

  • Research part specifications using computer or internet.
  • Quotes prices and part numbers from inventory.
  • If part is not in stock, places orders with the manufacturer and note special circumstances if needed.
  • Completes accurate and timely sales slips, contracts.
  • Obtains payment credit authorization, etc. as customary.
  • Assists with arranging delivery of larger parts.
  • Restocks new inventory and returned customer items if they are approved for refund.
  • Provides strong customer service, expedites requests and does so within the scope of the position duties.
  • On as requested basis, takes a complete and accurate physical inventory at the Branch.
  • Actively participates in the company’s safety mind frame, is aware of one’s surroundings and wears all PPE at all times.
  • Attends mandated training whether on or off site or online and completes training materials.
  • Keep up with product and service information and updates
  • Staying informed about competing products and services
  • Complete ongoing training and development programs - participates in classroom or on-line company or John Deere training as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
