AS THE PARTNERSHIP TASK LEAD, YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR LEADING PARTNERSHIP EFFORTS WITH STAKEHOLDERS FOR A REGIONAL EDUCATIONAL LABORATORY (REL). YOU WILL FOCUS ON ONGOING NEEDS-SENSING WITH STAKEHOLDERS TO IDENTIFY PRIORITY EDUCATION NEEDS AND CO-DEVELOP ACTIVITIES THAT ADDRESS THOSE NEEDS. YOU WILL WORK CLOSELY WITH THE PROJECT DIRECTOR, REL LEADERSHIP, AND REGIONAL STAKEHOLDERS TO ENSURE THAT PARTNERSHIP-DRIVEN WORK IS STRATEGIC, EVIDENCE-BASED, AND RESPONSIVE TO REGIONAL PRIORITIES. THE ROLE WILL INVOLVE MODERATE REGIONAL TRAVEL TO SUPPORT STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT AND PARTNERSHIP ACTIVITIES. THIS ROLE IS CONTINGENT UPON AWARD OF A NEW PROJECT.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in education, social science, public policy, or a related field with at least 13 years of experience or a PhD with at least eight years of related experience.
  • Experience working within or closely with SEAs or LEAs; former SEA/LEA administrators or practitioners strongly encouraged.
  • Strong existing relationships with SEAs, LEAs, and other education stakeholders in the region.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and implementing education-focused technical assistance and/or applied research projects with SEAs, LEAs, or other education stakeholders. 
  • Strong expertise in developing and using logic models, including defining outcomes and measures. 
  • Ability to translate stakeholder needs into actionable, evidence-based projects. 
  • Strong collaboration, facilitation, and communication skills. 
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate complex, multi-state or multi-agency work.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working on federally funded education research or technical assistance projects preferred. 

Responsibilities

  • Lead partnership-based work with education stakeholders across the region, including state and local education agencies, school districts, higher education institutions, and community partners.
  • Conduct ongoing needs-sensing with partners to identify and refine priority education needs.
  • Lead development of partnership proposals, including defining priority needs, identifying named partners, and securing partner commitment.
  • Support state education agencies (SEAs) in developing Learning Agendas and ensure partnership activities are aligned to those priorities.
  • Serve as the strategic lead and primary point of contact for partnerships, ensuring strong, ongoing relationships with stakeholders.
  • Co-develop partnership activities with stakeholders and coordinate with research and technical assistance staff to ensure alignment with partner-defined needs.
  • Ensure partnership activities align with REL priorities, Governing Board guidance, and IES expectations.
  • Lead development and use of partnership logic models and measurement plans, including defining measurable outcomes and monitoring progress.
  • Collaborate with regional Comprehensive Centers and other federally funded technical assistance providers, as appropriate, to maximize impact and avoid duplication.
  • Contribute to work plans, progress reports, and deliverables related to partnership activities.
