About The Position

PRIMARY PURPOSE The Afternoon Tea Host shall serve The Navigators and fulfill the responsibilities listed below in the spirit of The Navigators calling, values and purpose: To advance the Gospel of Jesus and His kingdom into the nations through spiritual generations of laborers living and discipling among the lost. This position will warmly greet and serve our guests as they arrive for Afternoon Tea. Hosts are responsible for checking in, seating guests, answerign guest questions, and helping maintain the dining room during service. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Warmly greet patrons. Can provide information regarding service, prices, and menu. Assisting servers with service (refilling beverages, rubbing food items, and per busing) Dining room set-up. Stocking items essential for service. Bussing and resetting tables Answering questions or directional needs from guests. Maintain set service standards. Additional Responsibilities Participate in Navigators’ on-site learning and development events, Cultural Development and Diversity trainings, or other non-Navigator developmental events as appropriate. Participate in annual processes, such as the organizational Plan and Progress Review (PPR), Engagement Survey, Reaffirmation of the Navigators Code of Conduct, Calling-Core Values-Vision, Statement of Faith, Driver’s Authorization, and other releases as required. Submit time worked on a weekly basis through the Workday Time Tracking system. Other job-related duties as assigned. CORE COMPETENCIES Collaboration, customer service, detail oriented, self-motivated (minimal supervision), analytical, flexible, able to troubleshoot complex issues, conceptual thinking, strategic planning, forward thinking, decisive and confident, able to maintain focus in a stressful/noisy environment, etc…, able to perform routine tasks for long periods of time. Requirements

  • Belief in and adherence to the Statement of Faith and Mission of The Navigators.
  • This role requires strong organization & time management skills with an emphasis on customer service.
  • OpenTable Reservation system
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including verbal & written, to create understanding and build strong working relationships required.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Navigator missions, ministries, and networks preferred/required
