Building Supervisors are student leaders in the facility who prioritize patron safety, customer service, leadership in operations, and managing student staff members. Building Supervisors must have strong problem-solving and communication skills as well as experience working in a recreational facility. Facility Responsibilities: Assist with the supervision of Campus Recreation facilities. Perform all work in cooperation with professional staff in accordance with department policies and procedures including task delegation and providing exceptional customer service Assist with the direct supervision and task delegation of Lead Facility Attendants and Facility Attendants Provide leadership in dealing with conflicts, emergencies and enforcement of Campus Recreation policies while ensuring facilities are safe and secure Conduct building rounds to identify facility issues, safety hazards or violations Maintain knowledge of Campus Recreation facilities policies, programs and services to field and respond to questions and patron concerns Report employee misconduct and performance related concerns to professional staff Assist with the setup and tear down of Informal Recreation, Intramurals, Club Sports, Internal Meetings and Event Rentals Report facility problems and patron misconduct to professional staff via shift reports, phone calls, and email Complete and submit all required facility documentation, including open/closing checklists, shift summary, and incident/injury reports Open and close Campus Recreation facilities at the scheduled times Lead emergency response to incidents/injuries and provide proper care Perform all other duties as assigned Personal/Professional Development Responsibilities Attend and participate in all Building Supervisor & Facility Leadership staff meetings Assist with the hiring and training of FA’s & Lead FA’s Assist in developing and revising training materials Provide peer-to-peer performance reviews and track feedback data. Train and ensure staff are compliant with radio protocols Ability to assist with leading staff meetings Attend professional facilities staff meetings Job Requirements & Expectations Average of 10-15 hours of work per week for Campus Recreation Genuine interest in serving students and patrons Willingness to learn and be open to training and development Knowledge of recreational sports programs Positive leadership skills Effectively supervise and train others Excellent communication skills (written & verbal) Conflict resolution skills Knowledge of Competitive Sports and FitWell policies and procedures Ability to think on your feet and make decisions based on training and available information Professionalism in responding to challenging situations and conversations Effective communication in both group and individual settings Able to lift 45 pounds with or without accommodation First Aid and Adult CPR/AED Certification Advantages of the Job Hands on experience leading and mentoring other student employees.
