About The Position

The Office of the Dean in the College of Education is seeking Penn State students to serve as Student Ambassadors in our front office. These part-time positions are highly visible and offer valuable professional experience working directly with College leadership. As a Student Ambassador, your job duties may include: Gain professional experience in higher education administration Work directly with College leadership and staff Build your resume with meaningful responsibilities Flexible scheduling around your academic needs Develop skills in office operations, communication, and customer service This is a part-time, hourly position (20 hours or less per week). The Office of the Dean is open Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Work time will be scheduled around other commitments, such as classes and other jobs; however, great importance is placed on adhering to the scheduled hours, as well as dependability and reliability. The starting hourly rate for this job is $12.00. Federal Work Study job performance is evaluated either annually or through ongoing mentorship. Students who received a Federal Work Study award have the opportunity to obtain a job and perform related duties either on campus, or remotely, if possible and at the discretion of the employer. Students applying for Federal Work Study positions should clarify expectations with their potential employer regarding either on campus/in person or remote work arrangements.

Responsibilities

  • Greeting and assisting visitors to the Dean's Office
  • Directing guests to appropriate offices and personnel
  • Processing incoming mail – receiving, opening, sorting, and logging
  • Coordinating package shipping and deliveries
  • Maintaining office supply inventory and coordinating shredding services
  • Scheduling and managing conference room reservations
  • Assisting with drafting memos and correspondence
  • Supporting special projects and additional duties as needed
