The Retail Internet Used Firearms Specialist is responsible for creating accurate descriptions and capturing high-quality images of the store's selection of used firearms. This role involves uploading these descriptions and photographs to the used firearm online website, ensuring the website maintains accurate and up-to-date inventories. The specialist adds and deletes specific firearms as they are acquired, disposed of, or transferred to keep the online inventory current and meet company expectations for the percentage of guns maintained on the company site. Key responsibilities also include evaluating and purchasing used firearms, acquiring them into the bound book, and ensuring proper payment to customers. The position requires initiating 4473 forms with customers and conducting final checks of applicable company, state, and federal forms before a firearm transfer. The specialist assists in making used firearm sales through customer interaction via e-mail, mail, telephone, and personal contact, providing a legendary customer service experience by greeting, consulting, and assisting customers in finding merchandise and making buying decisions. This includes processing firearms transactions efficiently and in accordance with all internal policies, procedures, and applicable law. The role also involves producing monthly sales audit reports for used firearms online activities, ensuring all firearm acquisitions are legal and compliant with ATF, state, and local laws and regulations, and company policies. This includes completing ATF required forms, state background check forms, certifying and screening potential firearm transfers, complying with waiting periods, and preventing straw purchases. Additionally, the specialist assists with the acquisition and receipt of firearms, performs firearms audits, mounts optics, safely checks/clears firearms, and prepares them for retail sale. They evaluate and appraise used firearms using historical knowledge and resources, respond to customer issues with good judgment, assure visual standards are met through restocking, remerchandising, cleaning, and general housekeeping, and maintain department and back room standards. Ongoing training in firearms, shooting products, diverse shooting disciplines, systems, compliance, and selling skills is also a part of this role.
