About The Position

Do you love planning events, getting people moving, and turning ordinary days into memorable experiences? Join our Parks & Recreation team as a Part-Time Recreation Coordinator! In this role, you’ll help bring our community to life by organizing fun programs, coordinating activities, and making sure every program or event runs smoothly from start to finish. One day you might be setting up a lively outdoor activity, the next you’re helping a youth sports league shine. Requirements

• Strong communication, organization, and supervisory skills.
• Experience with budgeting, program planning, and recreation or sports (tennis preferred).
• Ability to manage staff, ensure safety, and deliver high-quality programs.
• Current American Red Cross or American Heart Association CPR, First Aid, AED for Adults & Children certification as of hire date, or within 90 days of hire.
• Approved Criminal Background Investigation check if over 18 years of age.
• Approved driving record.
• Good physical condition.
• Ability to relate well and communicate with others.

Nice To Haves

• Competent in computer programs to include: Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, TEAMS, ect.)
• Knowledge of safety rules and standards.
• Knowledge of general budget, hiring, and scheduling practices.
• Knowledge of sports and programming activities.
• Organization of special events is desirable.
• Two years of directly related paid experience in recreation programming.
• One year of Supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage recreation programs based on community needs, budgets, and participation.
• Promote programs through marketing and community outreach.
• Hire, train, schedule, and supervise seasonal staff.
• Track budgets, attendance, and program performance; adjust as needed.
• Maintain strong community relations and respond to patron inquiries or concerns.
• Oversee facility areas (gym, fitness rooms, courts, ice arena) to ensure safety and compliance.
• Support front desk operations, events, and cross-department needs as required.
