About The Position

SUNY Niagara is seeking part-time instructors for our Radiologic Technology Program. The Instructor will work in the didactic, Lab or clinical setting based on program need. In the didactic setting, the instructor will prepare and maintain course syllabi and are responsible for providing instruction and evaluation and report program to the program Coordinator. In the lab setting, the instructor will prepare the lab setting for practice and testing of skills and provide evaluation for critical skills needed for the practice setting. In the clinical setting, the instructor will provide supervision and oversight of the practice experiences in the program. Remuneration for persons teaching at least 3 credits in a semester: $960 per lecture hour and $860 per lab hour. Paid orientation to teaching, responsibilities will be provided. Individuals with current clinical proficiency and/or teaching experience are particularly encouraged to apply. In order to build and maintain an active pool of qualified candidates to meet our present and future needs for this position, SUNY Niagara will accept applications on a continuous basis. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited program in radiologic technology
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Two (2) years recent practice in the radiologic technology field
  • Proficient in instruction and evaluation in the classroom, lab and clinical environments through academic preparation and/or experience
  • Hold current registration from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Hold current license in radiologic technology from the New York State Department of Health
  • Ability to work with and teach a diverse student population.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with students, co-workers, supervisors and the campus community.
  • Must be able to develop, prepare, and present information.
  • Must be able to operate computers and must adjust any teaching to the Americans with Disabilities Act provisions.
  • Must be able to physically perform the duties of the position.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficient in supervision, instruction and evaluation.
  • Previous teaching experience at a community college or University.

Responsibilities

  • Provides instruction and evaluation in accordance with College and program policies and procedure for successful achievement of student learning outcomes.
  • If teaching in the didactic setting, prepares and maintains course syllabi and cooperates with the Program Coordinator in periodic review of course materials as necessary.
  • If teaching in the lab and clinical setting, provides instruction, supervision and evaluation in accordance with program policies and procedures for successful achievement of student learning outcomes
  • Maintain a record of lab and student clinical time
  • Determine and maintain competency evaluations
  • Ensure safe radiation protection practices in accordance with ALARA
  • Participates in program assessment
  • Adhere strictly to the American Society of Radiologic Technologist's Code of Ethics
