About The Position

The developmental intelligence lab https://www.la.utexas.edu/users/dil/ , directed by Prof. Chen Yu, is seeking a Research Associate to help coordinate studies within the lab. The primary research of the lab focuses on using state-of-the-art sensing and computing techniques to understand the sensorimotor and cognitive processes that support early learning and development. Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, this person will work on federally funded research. Lab studies include collecting multimodal behavioral data (e.g., eye tracking, motion tracking, video, and audio data) from naturalistic environments and conducting well-controlled experimental studies in the lab. The Research Associate will act as lab coordinator will work closely with the PI and lab group to coordinate day-to-day lab operations. This is a fixed-term, hourly position for up to 19 hours/week. The ideal candidate would be able to make a two-year commitment. The developmental intelligence lab is hiring a part-time Research Associate will coordinate studies within the lab. This person will coordinate day-to-day lab operations.

Requirements

  • BA or BS in psychology, cognitive science, or related field
  • Experience working with infants and young children
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills in a collaborative research environment
  • Interest in development and learning
  • Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
