About The Position

Penn State Hazleton Practical Nursing Program is seeking a part time Practical Nursing Academic Coach for the 2025-2026 academic year. Job duties to include: Teach effective study strategies, time management, organization, self-advocacy, and test-taking skills. Assist students in identifying strengths, weaknesses, and setting realistic academic and career goals. Provide proactive support by reaching out to students, monitor academic progress, and intervene when issues arise. Address personal barriers to success, fostering self-efficacy and a growth mindset. Additional duties may include teaching first-year seminars, leading workshops, or training peer mentors.

Requirements

• Candidates must have an active Pennsylvania Nursing license.
• BSN required.
• Applicants should have experience in Acute Care Medical Surgical, Long-term care, or Community Health Nursing.
• Knowledge of educational best practices and student development.

Nice To Haves

• MSN Preferred.
• Nurse educator experience is recommended but not required.
