About The Position

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for a Part Time Pharmacist, UNLV Student Wellness [R0150478] ROLE of the POSITION The Part Time Pharmacist serves as a member of the Student Health Center (SHC) Pharmacy’s clinical team, serving a diverse population of students, faculty, staff, and dependents age 5 years of age and older on UNLV’s Maryland Parkway campus. Under the direction of the SHC Pharmacy’s Senior Pharmacist, the Part Time Pharmacist acts as a healthcare team member and ensures high quality, safe, efficient, patient-centered, outcome-oriented outpatient pharmacy services are provided to the campus community. The Part-Time Pharmacist also serves as a clinical resource to the healthcare providers and support staff of the Student Health Center (SHC), as well as the Faculty and Staff Treatment (FAST) Center at UNLV. Additionally, under the Senior Pharmacist’s supervision, the Part Time Pharmacist assists with maintaining and supporting all aspects of the SHC Pharmacy’s Investigational Drug Service (IDS) and ensuring collaborative partnerships with university partners, such as the Division of Research, and community agencies, such as the Southern Nevada Health District. The Part Time Pharmacist acknowledges the unique characteristics of each patient and provides respectful, culturally competent, and professional clinical services. This position supports the health and mental health of UNLV students and employees, thereby allowing them to succeed in their academic pursuits and/or employment. The SHC Pharmacy is licensed by the Nevada State Board of Pharmacy and nationally accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC). The SHC Pharmacy is a part of the Student Wellness Unit at UNLV, which includes the Student Health Center, Faculty and Staff Treatment Center, Student Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), Disability Resource Center, Care Center, Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities, Military and Veterans Services Center and Wellness Promotion department.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree of Pharmacy from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA)
active Registered Pharmacist (Rph) license in good standing from the Nevada State Board of Pharmacy
Certificate of Completion of pharmacy-based immunization delivery/ administration training

Nice To Haves

Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) is preferred.
Three to five years of experience as a licensed pharmacist is preferred.
Experience in college health or ambulatory/retail pharmacy setting is preferred.
Experience with pharmacy accreditation is preferred.
Experience with investigational drug service/trials is preferred.
One to three years of supervisory experience is preferred.
One to three years of pharmacy management experience is preferred.
