About The Position

Paraprofessional will work in grades 1-5 supporting the classroom teacher and one-on-one tutoring for Title 1 identified students across all four curricular content areas. Requirements

  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have experience with early literacy instruction and attend trainings during the school year
  • CPR/First Aid certified (preferred; willing to be provided training)
  • Must be Highly Qualified
  • Completed at least two years of college coursework with 60+ credits -or- Hold an Associate's Degree or higher -or- ParaPro Assessment - Qualifying score of 460+
  • Proven organization and time management skills
  • Dependable Attendance
  • Ability to explain curriculum expectations following directive from teacher
  • Ability to work professionally with staff, students, parents and other providers
  • Ability to provide positive guidance to students in a manner that communicates dignity and respect
  • Basic understanding of technology
  • Ability to assist with personal care needs
  • Able to sit, stand, bend, and walk frequently
  • Some lifting may be required
  • Experience and/or knowledge of behavioral management techniques

Nice To Haves

  • CPR/First Aid certified (preferred; willing to be provided training)
