About The Position

Paraprofessional will work with students receiving special education support in the Emotional Impairment (EI) Program. Using positive behavior supports to teach social skills is also a part of the position. The ability to provide positive guidance to students in a manner that communicates dignity and respect is critical. This job is not limited to any or all of the following skills, duties and responsibilities: Emotional Impaired Classroom Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Must have high school diploma or equivalent
CPR/First Aid certified (preferred; willing to be provided training)
Must be Highly Qualified
Completed at least two years of college coursework with 60+ credits -or- Hold an Associate's Degree or higher -or- ParaPro Assessment - Qualifying score of 460+
Proven organization and time management skills
Dependable Attendance
Ability to explain curriculum expectations following directive from teacher
Ability to work professionally with staff, students, parents and other providers
Ability to provide positive guidance to students in a manner that communicates dignity and respect
Basic understanding of technology
Ability to assist with personal care needs
Able to sit, stand, bend, and walk frequently
Some lifting may be required
Experience and/or knowledge of behavioral management techniques
