About The Position

The Department of Education Leadership, Evaluation, & Organizational Development (LEAD) invites applications for Part-time Lecturer (PTL) teaching positions in the following program areas: Programs in Educational Leadership Programs in Organizational Leadership & Learning Program in Career & Technical Education Program in Human Resource & Organizational Development Programs in Healthcare Leadership (delivered in a Competency-Based Education format) Programs in Higher Education Administration Program in evaluation offer courses in a range of modalities beyond traditional settings, including blended and online formats. The LEAD department is committed to making an impact through its research, teaching, and community engagement related to effective and ethical leadership, the development of meaningful human capital, and the application of sound research and evaluation methods. Through our engagement with leaders and professionals in education, business, non-profit, and government organization, we make an impact at the local, regional, national, and international level. The University of Louisville is a state supported research university located in Kentucky's largest metropolitan area. It was a municipally supported public institution for many decades prior to joining the university system in 1970. The University has three campuses. The 287-acre Belknap Campus is three miles from downtown Louisville and houses 7 of the university's 12 colleges and schools. The Health Sciences Center is situated in downtown Louisville's medical complex and houses the university's health related programs and the University of Louisville Hospital. The 243-acre Shelbyhurst Campus is located in eastern Jefferson County.

Requirements

  • Master’s required for undergraduate courses, but an earned doctorate is preferred.
  • Doctorate is required for graduate courses.
  • Highest graduate degree must be in the field of study or a closely related field with clear justifications on qualifications.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior teaching experience is also preferred.

Responsibilities

  • present engaging learning experiences
  • respond to students in a timely manner
  • communicate regularly with designated academic program director
  • maintain collegial and respectful relations with members of the UofL community and external stakeholders
  • submit course data (e.g., Hallmark Assessment Tasks, midterm progress reports) and final grades within university deadlines
  • comply with other requests as a part-time lecturer such as completing an attestation disclosure form
